Started in June 1999, this new division of The Brumley Music group began with the placement of Mike Porter in the position of V.P. Creative/Writer development. Mike has been assigned the task of developing and exploiting the existing cataloge of Gospel favorites, including the songs of the legendary Hall of Fame songwriter Albert E. Brumley. Additionaly Mike is going to build the cataloge through signing writers, acquiring songs and cataloges, and exploiting these new copyrights into all markets, including Film and Television, Country and Pop recordings and other new uses. The Nashville office has signed Mila Mason, former Atlantic records artist, to a publishing and production agreement.  Noted Nashville producer Mike Clute (Diamond Rio, Blackhawk) has just completed recording several new songs by Mila and Brumley Music's other new writer Nick Pellegrino.  These songs are scheduled to hit the airwaves and record stores sometime next spring. Mike Porter Bio Mike is a career music business veteran who brings over 20 years experience into his new position at Albert E. Brumley & Sons. Beginning his career as a musician/songwriter Mike played on over 100 albums by a wide range of artists as diverse as Lynyrd Skynyrd, Vince Gill, Merle Haggard, Rosanne Cash, John Hiatt, and many others. As a performing musician, Mike toured the world with artists like Rocky Burnette, Juice Newton, Rodney Crowell, Vince Gill, and more. As a songwriter, Mike has had songs recorded by The Everley Bros., Crystal Gayle, Mark Collie, John Hiatt, Charlie Sexton, Brian White and others. Since 1987 Mike has been employed in the Music Publishing or Record Business with creative positions in both Country (Bluewater Music, Bug Music) and Gospel Music (Benson Music, Tattoo Records) Mike has enjoyed many successes along the way, not the least of which are the signings of Jim Lauderdale and Harley Allen, two hugely successful Country Breakthrough Writers of the year. Mikes professional goals are clearly to build the Albert E. Brumley cataloge into one of the premier independent Gospel and Country Music Publishing houses in the business.
