The Southern Gospel Music Association has elected
Bob Brumley to the SGMA Hall of Fame. Bob will join
his father as a person of note in the gospel music field.
The induction ceremony will be held in Pigeon Forge,
Tennessee on September 28, 2011. Bob’s lifelong
ambition has been to promote and further southern
gospel music, especially the many songs and hymns
written by his father, Albert E. Brumley, who is
recognized by the industry as the greatest gospel
music composer of the 20th century; his works are on
display in the Smithsonian Institute in Washington D.C.
Bob feels humbled by this honor; to be chosen by his
peers is a recognition that completes on of the goals in his life. (Contributed by Tudy Brumley, Bob’s wife)
Speaking of good times, Bob was able to join some friends and make some new ones when he was asked to contribute and take part in the production of “Snake County Stories”, a play put on in the format of the old-time radio shows, complete with two people responsible for the sound effects!
The story was a collection of stories from people passed on through generations about McDonald County, or Snake County as it was originally known as. Click here to go to Videos page and see a short clip!
Bob and Tudy’s oldest grandson, Trey, just graduated from high school...WOW! Already? They made the drive over to Wichita Falls to see him, and the rest of the family last week. Beautiful drive, very fun time visiting and hanging out by their pool; and of course very proud and excited to see Trey reach this milestone!
Also, very relieved to be flying again! It has been a long time coming – after two years and countless tests (medical) Bob’s finally received the official OK from the FAA – Medical reinstated! OK to fly!
And youngest daughter Betsy and her husband started up a small dinner/concert show series in Bella Vista. AR The first one was last week and featured Little Roy & Lizzy. Stay tuned for more shows!
Shaping up to be a very busy Summer.... stay tuned!
