2011 is well underway, although greatly slowed down at the moment -- at least for us here in Powell, MO where the latest snowstorm has moved in dumped a foot of snow and made it too cold to want to get out much.
Tickets selling for Gospel Sing - if you are on our mailing list you have probably already seen the email and received our postcard. Sales are good, but -- if you don’t have reserved seats already -- don’t wait too long. We have a great show and have expanded to have another matinee performance, now on Thursday too! Come make it a week-long vacation in the great town of Lebanon, MO!
“I Am Strong” -- Sporting a guest list of assorted country stars, the Cracker Barrel release landed at #1 on Billboard’s Bluegrass chart, #23 Country and # 95 in the Billboard Top 200. Brumley writers Jamie Johnson and Susanne Mumpower have penned the lead off single, “I Am Strong” featuring Dolly Parton and the video is in medium rotation at GAC. We are very proud for Jamie and Susanne, and all of our writers!
Speaking of our writers in Nashville, Thomm Jutz, Peter Cronin and Charley Stefl are hard at it writing music for “The 1861 Project”, a Ken Burns meets Facebook compilation of stories from the Civil War in celebration on the 150 year anniversary, which will also include collaborations with various country, folk, bluegrass and Americana artists. Jutz will produce as well. Additionally, Jill King has been selected as a candidate for the Robert Johnson Blues Foundation World Tour as a result of her collaboration with Mr. Johnson’s grandson on the song “Mark on Me” included on her cd “Rain on Fire”.
Keep your ears open, ok?
